Qualified candidates must be able to read and interpret complex blueprints, make minor set ups and machine adjustments. Structural Design Engineer

Requirements- BS in Naval Architecture Maine Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering or BS Chemical Engineering. Relevant hand-on experience with composite materials for marine applications. Knowledge of lamination schedules. Analytical testing of composite structures. Knowledge of hand & spray lay-up techniques, polyester resins, vinyl ester, phonelics, & Pre-Preg materials.

Responsibilities- Establish the company as an industry leader in structural engineering for small performance craft. To provide technical expertise in the area of composite design, development, and production. To experiment with non-traditional composite materials in the small craft industry such as; carbon fiber and kevlar to determine potential applications. Investigate various production processes such as; UV curing, Vacuum Bagging, Autoclave, & Rotational Molding and asses their appropriateness. Develop specify and participate in necessary testing such as; destructive, impact, failure analysis, and endurance.
