Business Wire 07:15 a.m. Sep 22, 1998 EasternCLEARWATER, Fla.--Sept. 22, 1998--MarineMax, Inc., the nation's largest recreational boat retailer, announced today that it will be adding Hatteras Yachts to its product offering.
Effective October 17, 1998, MarineMax will represent Hatteras Yachts, a Genmar Company, throughout the state of Florida, excluding the panhandle. The addition to the MarineMax product line provides customers an option when seeking convertibles and motor yachts.
"The luxury yacht market has grown steadily over the past five to seven years. MarineMax had the opportunity to select a product line that would complement and not cannibalize our current offering of Sea Ray products," said Bill McGill, Chairman and CEO of MarineMax, Inc. MarineMax is committed to supporting Hatteras products of 50 feet to 130 feet through a dedicated staff of factory trained consultants. In addition, MarineMax will represent Hatteras at regional and local boat shows, fishing tournaments and special events by Bassett Boat Company on Florida's East Coast and Gulfwind Marine on the West Coast.
